Today we had a homemade breakfast called arepas. We then visited Santiago’s fathers house that is being renovated. We took the bus system over to a fruit market called minorista. Here they have lots of vendors with everything from food, drink, fruits, and regular house items. We had a fun time trying many new fruits and drinks.

After this we taxied over to comuna 13. This is a public walking path that has murals, food, shops, and street performers, as well as great views of the city. There are escalators in one part because it is so steep. We had great food and John did a street performance with some locals.

Next, we ubered over to Simon’s house to hang out, talk, and have some Cervezas. We got to meet his parents who enjoyed talking with us in Spanish and teaching us correct pronunciations.

lastly; we went into the town to hang out at a bar on a popular street. However, it being Monday night the crowd was light.
